Slurm - Now Available in 50cl bottles!
-----------

For those of you who doesn't know Slurm is a fictional drink from the tv-show Futurama.

I wanted to try making a photorealistic render, kind of in the style of an ad or product visualization.
This is what I came up with, could be a LOT better though :(

Made in Blender 2.61, rendered with cycles (which now is part of the blender main build, YAY! :D )

The Slurm label is made by ~Skele-kitty

Very nice job! This is what you get when you put Futurama in a Blender (2.61).

Also, as far as putting a texture underneath the label, you may be able to manage something with the shrink-wrap modifier!

And we all know where Slurm comes from... ;-)

I like the colors and bubbles, floor reflections (perfect!) and the plastic finish. Just a bit of difficulty seeing the actual surface of the liquid in the bottle that is lying on its side. I see the air gap, but really see no solid surface level inside of the bottle. Of course the consistency of Slurm is anyones' guess !

Thank you! :D

Yeah you are right about the surface.. My mother said the same thing as soon as she saw the image :P

2.61 has Cycles built-in? Maybe I'll try learning it once I get my new computer...I've never used Cycles before.

I must say, you did a good job with the bottle itself - the shape is amazing, and the cap looks awesome. I don't see why you're being so hard on yourself :o

Yeah, and you can easily switch between the renderers in the top bar of the window.
To get started I recommend this tutorial: [link]

I find cycles much easier to use than say luxrender, you have much more control over the materials with blenders node system.. but it's not as realistic (It doesn't do caustics that well). Still WAAAY more realistic than BIender internal though XD

Thank you! I guess I had too high expectations before making it..
